General Information
USA TEAM HANDBALL is a non-profit organization. Their current focus is on developing youth teams in preparation for the 2012 London Olympic Games. We train here at LAHS with members from LA Team Handball. Many are former National players and Olympians. When? Sundays 10AM – 12NOON. Look for the signs and announcements and come join!! No experience is necessary.

The game is played on a court 1/3rd longer and wider than a basketball court. There are six court players and a goalie. The circle, designates a goalie area (an 18 foot half circle around the goal) makes the game unique. IT IS A FAST PACED PASSING GAME. The ball hand size and is similar to a small soccer ball. “IT IS A GAME OF 3’S”……You receive a pass and are allowed: 3 STEPS, DRIBBLE, 3 MORE STEPS, 3 SECONDS TO PASS OR SHOOT. “Team Handball is an outstanding spectator sport due to its athletic, high-scoring and dynamic attributes. Handballs most eye-catching spectacle comes when players shoot for goal. Top players can produce shots on goal up to 100km/hr while gracefully launching themselves into the air to dodge defense and get as close to the goal as possible without stepping into the zone or crease (the near-semicircled area only the goal-keeper is allowed in.) “(from eurohandball.org)
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; Apr./Mar. 30th, 1st, 2nd
Los Amigos along with LA THC hosted the USATH West Regional Tournament. LA Team Handball Club won the tournament and qualified for Nationals in Las Vegas.
What created the most buzz of the weekend was the Los Amigos Youth Game. Pictured below are the LOBOS who played on Saturday. LOBO ORANGE WAS VICTORIOUS, WINNING 22-17 IN A HIGH PACED GAME. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THAT ENTERED!! GO LOBOS!
